Begley says A5 death highlights need for upgrade to progress

West Tyrone MP Órfhlaith Begley says the death of a lorry driver in his 20s on the A5 yesterday highlights the need for the long awaited upgrade project to proceed without delay.

A public enquiry will reconvene in the autumn, with hopes that the improvement works can begin next year.

Órfhlaith Begley says there’s still a distance to go, but she wants the work started as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, she says, a family is grieving following a death on the road, the second within a month…….
