Up to ten children in Clonmany were left behind this morning due to the lack of available school transport.
The secondary school children were travelling to Carndonagh and it is believed they all had a bus ticket but due to capacity issues, they were unable to travel on the bus.
The removal of school bus fares for this year has resulted in unprecedented numbers applying for the scheme, but because of the strict criteria in place, large numbers of children and families in Donegal who are categorised as ‘concessionary’ will now be refused a seat.
