Today marks the 200th anniversary of the Irish Coast Guard.
The search and rescue service, established in 1822, responds to 2 thousand 600 call-outs a year, and comprises of 80 full-time staff and one thousand volunteers.
This afternoon Peter Larkin from Greenore Coast Guard was presented with a medal to acknowledge 40 years of service.
