The ESRI has warned homebuyers will feel the burden of the concrete levy – not the construction industry.
The new 10 per cent levy on concrete blocks was included in the Budget to help those affected by Mica, Pyrottite and other issues caused by defective blocks.
The ESRI post-budget analysis also found many of the once-off measures will aid most households from rising prices this winter.
