Final cost of the new National Children’s Hospital may not be known for years

The final cost of the new National Children’s Hospital may not be known for years, according to the head of its development board.

The majority of the 1.4 billion euro budget has already been spent and the final cost is expected to go beyond that.

The project is running 17 months behind its original schedule and is expected to be fully built by March 2024 and opened before the end of that year.

Chief Officer of the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board, David Gunning, says he can’t give a final cost for the project:
