Wearing poppy “not controversial” – Taoiseach

The Taoiseach says he doesn’t believe Irish people wearing a poppy is controversial.

Micheál Martin wore a badge with a poppy and shamrock to mark armistice day.

He also participated in two minutes of silence at the British Irish Council for those killed in the two world wars.

The Taoiseach believes after the Good Friday Agreement there has been what he called a “more mature” approach to the poppy:
