Almost 7,000 people waited on a trolley at Letterkenny University Hospital so far this year.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation have revealed that 6,793 admitted patients were without a bed at the hospital in 2022.
That’s up 17% from last year.
Nationally, it was the worst year for overcrowding with 118,662 patients without a hospital bed.
