Consideration is being given to expanding Garda resources in the North West.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has confirmed that plans to purchase a helicopter and plane to transfer additional personnel to the area in the event of an incidents are being reviewed.
He also confirmed that it is his wish to see a dog unit should be established in Donegal to assist in drugs and cash searches.
