Almost €9 million is to be invested in eight projects in Killybegs.
The funding’s been announced this morning by Marine Minister Charlie McConalogue under the Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Development Programme.
The bulk of the money, €7,500,000 will go towards the Smooth Point Pier Extension.
€450,000 has been allocated for Energy Saving measures, while €350,000 will go towards Water Control Measures.
A Small Craft Harbour Service Building is to be developed, with €300,000 being allocated to that, while the provision of Workshop Stores, the provision of a Harbour Master’s Store and the provision of piles on Blackrock Pier and Landing Pier all receive €100,000.
€50,000 meanwhile has been set aside for a Passenger Embarkation Pontoon.
