Police investigating arson in Derry

Police in Derry are appealing for information regarding a reported arson at a business premises on Ferryquay Street yesterday.

Shortly before 6.55 pm a fire was reported to have started in a shop. Fire damage was caused to the toiletries section and everyone was evacuated while the Fire & Rescue Service dealt with the fire. Smoke damage has been caused to the roof of the shop and no injuries were reported.

Two young males were seen in the area at the time. The first is described as wearing a dark tracksuit with short dark hair and the second was also wearing a dark tracksuit with dark hair but was wearing a green camouflage style jacket with orange inner lining.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
