Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses following a reported assault in Foyle street in the early hours of this morning.
At around 2 am officers responded to reports of a man being repeatedly struck around the head.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.
