It’s hoped an increase in visitor numbers to the Newmills Corn and Flax Mills this summer season could secure additional funding from the OPW.
The Minister for the OPW previously said the amenity would not be given any significant funding unless there was a rise in footfall.
Councillor Donal Mandy Kelly says the site boasts huge potential.
