Gardai warn parents and young people of dangers of money and parcel muling

Gardai in Donegal have issued a stark warning to parents and young people in the county of the dangers of money and parcel muling.

Money mules allow fraudsters to use their bank accounts to receive monies obtained via fraud while package mules work for fraudsters by accepting packages on their behalf and sending or delivering them to designated persons or addresses.

Gardai are warning people that being a ‘Mule’ is a criminal offence carrying a sentence of up to 14 years in prison.

They are pleading with people to not allow themselves to be used as a money mule or a package mule.
