It was a good night on Wednesday for the men’s gaelic footballers of ATU Donegal as both sides beat Queens University at the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy.
After defeat on the opening night to St Mary’s the previous week, the Letterkenny senior side bounced back with a 0-15 to 3-1 victory in the Ryan Cup Division 1.
Cloughaneely’s Blake McGarvey scored 0-8 on the night while Jason McGee, Rory O’Donnell, Dylan Doogan, Bobby McGettigan, Jack McSharry and Nevin O’Donnell also got on the scoresheet.
The freshers made it two wins from two in Division 1 beating Queens 1-15 to 1-9.
Having trailed by a point at half time, the ATU put in a strong second half performance to win by six.
Downings Paddy McElwee top scored with 0-11 while Conor McGinty scored the home sides goal along with two points.
Earlier in the week, the men’s soccer side qualified for the CUFL Premier Division quarter finals.
Shane Byrne’s side beat TU Dublin 4-3 at the An Dánlan Sports Field.
Gabriel Aduaka bagged a hat trick, all coming from the penalty spot while the fourth goal came from Shaun O’Donnell scored the other goal.
