Calls for more speed cameras on Irish roads

A Fine Gael Senator is calling for the implementation of average speed cameras on more Irish roads in order to save lives.

This comes after An Garda Síochána launched its Bank Holiday Roads Enforcement Operation for the October Bank Holiday Weekend, with a high presence of gardaí on the roads until Wednesday morning.

Barry Ward says the amount of deaths on Irish roads this year alone is devastating for families and is urging people to drive safely over the bank holiday weekend.
