New renters in Donegal are paying almost 30% more each month than existing tenants, meanwhile Carndonagh had the lowest average rent for existing tenancies nationally in Q2 of this year at €522 per month.
This is what has been found in New data from the ESRI and the residential tenancies board.
It showed rents increased by their highest annual rate between April and July of this year.
The average rent for a new tenant in the county is now €886 with an existing renter paying €684, a €202 euro increase.
