The Green Party Leader says he would prefer a general election early next year.
There has been increasing speculation about the possibility of a poll late this year with Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty this week expressing his hope that an election will take place this year.
Eamon Ryan has indicated he would be prepared to enter Government with Sinn Fein.
