Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council is concerned that the Deposit Re-Turn Scheme is harming small businesses who can’t afford to get the machine installed.
The money back scheme was introduced for plastic drink bottles and cans on February first.
Cllr Martin Harley says the installition of the reverse vending machines is costly and some small retailers are absorbing the levy cost in a bid to retain customers:
