BOI apologise for adverts that fell below clarity standards

Bank of Ireland has apologised after two adverts it produced last year fell below standards on accuracy and clarity.

The first was about lump sum saving and appeared in a number of areas – another was about general savings and appeared on radio.

The company has admitted one of the ads contained an “error” and the second was “potentially confusing”.

The bank has apologised for errors in those messages, and says it will take steps to make sure this never happens again.
