Irish economy set to receive boost

The Irish economy is expected to receive a boost later this year as consumers become more confident when spending their money.

The Central Bank has launched its latest Quarterly Bulletin which shows modified domestic demand is forecast to grow by 2.1 per cent this year.

Headline and core inflation are expected to ease to around 2 per cent as global influences on inflation here ease.

Robert Kelly from the Central Bank says the Irish public are still wary of splashing out while the cost of living crisis remains:
