Junior doctors are under too much pressure – IMO

The Irish Medical Organisation says junior doctors are under too much pressure.

The union is calling for a long-term strategy to help tackle the shortage of GPs and consultants.

A new report from the Medical Council found the health service is highly reliant on junior doctors and those who’ve come from other countries to work here.

IMO President, Dr. Denis McCauley says doctors coming here from outside Europe don’t qualify for training programmes to become consultants:
