Victims continuing to come forward about historical sexual abuse in schools

More than 160 people have contacted Gardaí following the report of the scoping inquiry into historical sexual abuse in schools.

They’re appealing for people to continue to come forward, saying anyone who wants to speak – will be listened to.

The inquiry has reported there were almost 2,400 allegations of sexual abuse of children in schools run by religious orders.

Colm O Gorman who set up the abuse survivor group ‘1 in 4’ says it’s time Irish Society got to grips with the issue of abuse.
