The Tánaiste’s described as ‘interesting’ a Green Party proposal, where parents receive a one off child benefit payment when a child is born, in addition to regular payments.
Coalition parties have been suggesting Budget preferences, ahead of the announcement on October 1st.
The Green Party want to see a payment of 560 euro for parents when a child is born.
Senior ministers will hold the first of a series of meetings in advance of the Budget this evening.
