People in the West and North West are most likely to have a medical card, according to the CSO.
The region encompassing Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway had a population of over 750,000 people at the time of the 2022 census.
34% of people had a medical card, while 11% had a GP visit card.
