People who require an Occupational Therapist assessment to avail of adaptive grants for their homes can claim back some of the costs if they go down the private route in a bid to get seen more quickly.
Cllr Paul Canning believes that many members of the public are not aware of this and that Donegal County Council should make applicants aware.
As it stands, waiting times of up to six months can be faced by those requiring the assessments, leaving families in limbo.
