About 41,000 homes and businesses remain without power – and 40,000 without water – this morning.
Most schools are set to reopen following the Christmas break – but some in the counties worst-affected by snow and ice have opted to stay closed.
The country will remain under a status yellow low temperature and ice warning until Thursday.
