Inquiry into proposed goldmine in Tyrone suspended

An inquiry into proposals about a controversial gold mine in County Tyrone has been suspended – three days after it started.

The Planning Appeal’s Commission, which is managing the inquiry, says the break-down was because the Department for Infrastructure failed to follow its own legal procedures.

Protestors gathered in the county ahead of the opening of the examination on Monday, due to concerns about the impact the mine would have on health and the environment.
