A house was broken into in the Raymoghy area of Manorcunningham.
It happened between 5:15 pm on Friday evening and 10:30 am the following morning.
Entry was gained when the back door was forced open. Nothing was stolen, however, a number of rooms were ransacked.
Gardaí are now asking members of the public who believe they have information that could assist enquiries to come forward.
