Onlookers cheered and clapped as the Pope today greeted crowds from a balcony overlooking St Peter’s Square.
During a brief appearance, he waved, before asking an aide to read a speech calling for an end to conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.
Speaking in Italian he wished “Dear Brothers and Sisters a Happy Easter” before touring the Vatican City in the ‘Pope-mobile’.
