The Tanaiste Simon Harris has spoken to the mother of 9 year old Harvey Morrison who died two weeks ago after a short illness.
They have agreed to meet in the near future.
The young Dublin boy had scoliosis and spina bifida and faced delays of three years in accessing surgery.
The Tanaiste had pledged to cut waiting times to four months for scoliosis surgery when he was Health Minister.
