President Michael D. Higgins will remain in hospital while continuing a course of antibiotics.
The 84-year-old spent last night in St. James’s Hospital in Dublin to have a “localised infection examined”.
The President’s medical team says there has been a “significant improvement” in his condition since he began treatment.
