Councillor criticises OPW for speed at which flood mitigation schemes have taken place

Cllr Noel Jordan has called for the Office of Public Works to increase flood risk mitigation funding so emergency works can be carried out at a meeting.

At a meeting of Donegal County Council, he criticised the Office of Public Works for the speed at which flood mitigation schemes have taken place.

Some works that were commissioned during 2020 and 2021 have yet to begin.

Cllr Jordan also called on the OPW to take responsibility for works instead of providing funding for others to carry them out:
