
An Inishowen based councillor has expressed his hope that a new Garda station will be established in Carndonagh.
The station was deemed not fit for purpose in 2018 and was omitted from the Garda Building and Refurbishment Programme 2016 – 2021.
Following a Parliamentary Question from Deputy Pádraig MacLochlainn it has been revealed that a preliminary business case into a new Garda station is ongoing.
Cllr Albert Doherty says he hopes a new building will be prioritised to service North Inishowen, and will ask Minister of Jim O’Callaghan of the proposition while in the county today:
