A banned driver has been charged to court after Gardaí in Letterkenny found him to be nine times over the legal alcohol limit.
They had been apprehended on Saturday night after they left the scene of a collision involving another vehicle in Letterkenny.
The driver, who was already disqualified from driving, was then arrested on suspicion of drink driving, having failed a roadside breath test, with further breath testing showing that the driver was nine times over the legal limit.
The car was seized and the owner must now apply to the Judge of the District Court to get it back.
They have been charged and a court appearance will now follow.
