Donegal County Council has launched its “Peacebuilding Through the Environment” initiative at the Deele Community Anglers facility at Mongorry Lake near Raphoe.
This PEACEPLUS funded programme is a county wide project with several strands addressing the need for individualised and community-based climate actions within the County, and cuts across several initiatives on personal climate actions, engagement, education and capacity-building.

It’s being supported by an investment of €200,000.00.
Cathaoirleach Cllr Paul Canning says the work done by Deele Community Anglers to get young people involved in their activities is a perfect example of what this programme is intended to achieve……..
This is one of 32 cross-community projects included in within Donegal County Council’s Local Community Action Plan, and will engage with a network of
community-based groups, schools and other interested organisations across the county.
Pauline Smith is PEACEPLUS Manager with Donegal County Council………
