Donegal had the least sunshine in Ireland during January

 

Today’s climate statement for January published by Met Éireann has shown that Donegal registered the least amount of sunshine of anywhere in Ireland during the month.

Malin Head recorded just 47.8 hours of sunshine through the month which equates to 3.75 hours per day.

The weather station at Malin Head was also noted for being the only place Ireland to record storm force winds.

This was on Tuesday, 27th January during Storm Chandra where gusts reached 130km/h.
