Gardaí are warning the public after an elderly person in Pettigo was defrauded by an unknown man in their own home.
The man gained entry after asking if the resident had lost any money.
Under the guise of making enquiries, he took cash from the house, saying he needed to scan it in his van, before leaving with the money.
Garda Gráinne Doherty issued an appeal on the Greg Hughes Show, urging people to remain vigilant and not allow unknown callers into their homes:
