State accommodation to be withdrawn from Ukrainians

The Government will start withdrawing State accommodation from around 16,000 Ukrainian refugees from August, with properties returned to tourism or the private rental market.

Those eligible to remain must reapply, with some moved to designated centres, and continuing to receive payments.

The ‘hosted’ housing scheme will be phased out by March next year.

The Government is also working with the EU on a voluntary return programme for Ukraine.
