The Sligo-based Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 118 was called into action in Donegal today to carry out a medical evacuation from Tory Island.
The Department of Transport says the helicopter was tasked by the Marine Rescue Co-ordination Centre at Malin Head to transfer a patient from the island.
The casualty was safely airlifted to Letterkenny University Hospital.
