Uisce Éireann say that a major burst to a water main in the Ballyraine area of Letterkenny has successfully been repaired with water returning to customers.
In a statement the utility says the network is now refilling and full supply will gradually return over the coming hours.
Repair crews will continue to monitor the network as the recovery process continues.
