The government is being urged to embark on a comprehensive programme to replace radiotherapy machines.
The issue was raised in the Dail by Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty, who told Tanaiste Simon Harris a recent report pointed out that 80% of the 23 radiotherapy machines in the state break down regularly and are in need of replacement.
Mr Harris confirmed that over a hundred million euro has already been committed.
