The number of electric cars sold in April this year more than doubled when compared with the same month in 2025.
Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show a 109% rise in EV sales totals last month.
This year so far, electric vehicle sales are up almost 50% compared to the same four months in 2025.
In its commentary around the figures, SIMI calls for investment in infrastructure and supports to encourage widespread EV adoption before 2030.
