Almost 6,000 carers in Donegal are set to receive €2,000 in Support Grant payments this week.
The annual grant is available to all carers providing full-time care to an older person or a person with a disability, regardless of their means or social insurance contributions.
5,927 people in Donegal will receive the payment this Thursday.
Nationally, 147,000 carers are set to receive the grant, totalling €336 million.
