The first sod has been turned in Market Square as renovation work is set to get underway.
Local contractor Boyle Construction has been appointed to the project, which is part of wider Urban Regeneration Works.
The long-awaited project is the flagship of the Project Ireland 2040 initiative and has received €1m of investment from Donegal County Council.
