See Her Elected has criticised ten local authorities for failing to elect a single female cathaoirleach, including Donegal County Council.
Nationwide, just 23 women have been chosen to serve as cathaoirligh across 100 local authority areas.
In Donegal, only three of the county’s 37 councillors are women.
