Nato’s military chief is calling for Ireland to have a ‘conversation’ about its neutrality.
The 32 country military alliance, which was founded after World War Two, instructs members to operate a collective defence if under attack.
Nato’s supreme allied commander in Europe, Alex Grynkewich has told the Irish Times Ireland should consider its policy of neutrality, and its usefulness in the changing world.
He said the State should question its benefits, and if its fit for purpose.
