Letterkenny University Hospital was the third most overcrowded in the state this morning, according to figures published by the INMO.
45 patients were admitted without a bed, seven of those were in the emergency department.
At Sligo University Hospital 36 patients were awaiting a bed, giving a north west total of 81.
University Hospital Limerick once again recorded the highest figure in the state with 100 patients admitted without a bed, almost one sixth of the national figure of 599.
