European 800m Champion Mark English returned to the county on Wednesday evening as Finn Valley AV hosted a homecoming reception at the Finn Valley Centre.
A large turnout from across the county attended to celebrate alongside the only male from Ireland to ever win a European gold.
It was a highly successful season for English who recorded six of the seven fastest European times while setting new Irish records outdoor and indoor, a new pb in the 800 and a Diamond League victory all coming his way in 2026.
