A solicitor in Donegal thinks Glenties courthouse will close permanently despite efforts trying to save it.
The courthouse has temporarily closed due to health and safety concerns and has moved to a community centre across the street.
The Courts Service has claimed it would cost €80,000 to remove immediate risk of health and safety risks at Glenties Courthouse, and a multiple of that to improve the building.
The statement was released after Judge Paul Kelly appealed for the 172-year-old building to be saved yesterday.
Solicitor Paudge Dorrian says although he agrees with Judge Paul Kelly that the courthouse should he saved, he has witnessed too many similar cases like this in the past:
