Majority supports tax breaks for returning emigrants who start businesses

More than half the population would favour tax breaks for Irish people retuning home to set up a business.
The figures, from market research firm Amarach, also show that people over the age of 55 are most enthusiastic to see emigrants come back.
The idea of getting emigrants to return and start businesses has also been a key element of the Donegal Diaspora project which has been in place for a number of years.
The Taoiseach has already said he wants more Irish people to move home in 2016 – he’s set a target of 5-thousand people returning in the next 12 months.
